One of the most hottest debates these days in the boxing universe is that is Khabib VS Floyd Mayweather going to happen? And if its going to happen when will the fight be scheduled. In this article we are going to discuss some of the highlights of the events that have happened in the past few days.
Will Khabib VS Floyd Mayweather Ever Happen?
On October 14th Khabib challenged Floyd Mayweather and Floyd reacted positively on twitter. Floyd Mayweather tweeted, ” CBS showtime and MGM Grand get the checkbook out! Go to @leonardellerbe ‘s page to view Khabib Nurmagomedov challenging me.” UFC’s president, Dana White denies the fight to happen. The reason is that Khabib is under contract and secondly no one from the Floyd’s Team has contacted him. While the two champions clearly showed their interest on social media still Dana White refuses the fight to happen. On the other hand, Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz has said that if Floyd wants a boxing match, they are open to the idea.
Both the champions have never tasted defeat. Khabib brings 2.5 billion Muslims around the world, with some of the richest countries of the world and they are behind him. Floyd Mayweather also known as Floyd Money Mayweather, on the other hand is a megastar. If two forces clash, that going to be one hell of a fight.
On top of that both Khabib and Floyd side has not ruled out the fight. With other words, White would be crazy not to allow this fight. But at the end of the day, Khabib is a UFC fighter and comes under the contract of UFC which Khabib and his team totally respect.
We don’t exactly know what the contract between Khabib and UFC exactly says but a copy of contract with Eddy Alvarez is published on twitter and the labor law professor Zev Eigen from Northwestern University has read it carefully and made some massive allegations. Let’s take a look at one on them. “I think it’s potentially violation of the 13th amendment , The prohibition against slavery or involuntary servitude. You can’t force someone to work for you. I don’t know how, under contract law, that would enforceable. But I don’t think it’s been challenged.” And for this reason Dana White’s remarks that Khabib is under UFC contract makes us a little uncomfortable.
There is a little tension between Dana White and Khabib. The team member of Khabib who attacked Conor in the ring would be fired. Khabib threatens to leave UFC if that ever happens. Now White told TMZ sports that the conflict is resolved and they are all good. Floyd on the other hand isn’t worrying about the higher powers. He says ” Oh, we’re fighting, I’m my own boss.”
Right now it is very early to say that Khabib VS Floyd Mayweather is happening. For more new and updates keep checking out website.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao Rematch:
Saturday’s Instagram post included a video of Mayweather and Pacquiao talking with each other at a music festival held in Tokyo. However, it was difficult to hear what the men were saying due to loud background noise. Pacquiao told Mayweather that he has the belt to what Mayweather replied “I’m going to take it from you like I did before”
Mayweather included no details about the possible match in his Instagram post but in his videos obtained by ESPN Mayweather says he is trying to get December for his comeback. We all know that the most important boxing gear that we could use is a pair of boxing gloves. You spend hours in training, wearing those gloves but you tend to overlook the fact that maintaining clean boxing gloves is also very important. A stinky and dirty glove is not only unpleasant for the environment but very harmful to your skin as well. In this article we will tell you some preventive measures so that you don’t have to deal with the nasty smell from your gloves ever and maintain clean boxing gloves. So, without any further due, let’s get started.
What causes your gloves to stink?
The reason why gloves start to develop really nasty smell is simply because of bacteria. Your hands get really sweaty while training and this sweat starts to soak up in your gloves. The problem is, most people after training take off their gloves, throw them in their bags and forget about them. As a result, you are left with one hell of a foul adored pair of gloves.
Fortunately, there are preventive measures that can be taken to avoid the harmful and bad smelling bacteria that overtake the insides of your gloves. These measures will help you prolong the lifespan of your gloves rather than retiring prematurely.
Air Dry, Always!
Most of the people keep on asking how to clean boxing gloves, training gloves or MMA gloves. The best preventive method that address this is simply air drying your gloves after any type of workout. Make sure you leave your gloves open and let the air flow through them. In this way, you’ll be able to eliminate the sweat which could ruin your gloves if not taken care off. You can also use a hair dryer to blow air into your gloves. But remember not to use high heat as excess of heat may damage your gloves. After drying your gloves always keep them out of moisture and direct sunlight.
Wear Hand Wraps:
Hand wraps not only provide protection to your hands but also soak in excess of sweat. This prevents the sweat to creep inside of the gloves, thus stopping the sweat to pad inside. But in addition to clean boxing gloves, you will also need to wash your hand wraps regularly because sweaty hand wrap also start to smell.
Clean Boxing Gloves Thoroughly:
Always clean your gloves from the inside as well as the outside, right after every type of workout. Take a damp cloth and wipe out the surface of the gloves as the sweat can cause stains on the leather. Then take a dry cloth, wrap it on your hand and stick your hand inside the gloves. This will cause the moisture to be absorbed by the cloth. You can use a dryer for this purpose as well.
Use Anti-Bacterial Spray:
Use some anti-bacterial spray to kill bacteria inside. This will not only kill bacteria but will also freshen up your gloves from the inside. After spraying your gloves with an anti-bacterial spray, put them in fresh air for some time. Washing boxing gloves is clearly not a good idea. Keep your gloves away from washing machines and dryers.
Use Apple Cider Vinegar:
Apple cider vinegar is very popular cleaning agent. It is used to clean different things like shoe, bags etc. Where apple cider vinegar is very effective for cleaning purposes, it is a great agent to eliminate smell as well. It is easy to use and super effective in removing stink and refreshing up your boxing gloves.
All you need to do is pour half table spoon of apple cider vinegar in your hand and then gently rub inside your gloves. Make sure you rub each and every part of your glove. After applying, let your gloves dry overnight. When you wake up in the morning there will be no bad odor coming out of your gloves.
The Freezing Method:
This method might not sound normal but it is one of the most popular way of killing bacteria from your gloves. Freezing boxing gloves not only halt the bacteria to spread but also kill the bacteria that is responsible for the bad odor coming out of your gloves. However, freezing will cause the ice to cover the gloves and you would need to dry out your gloves. To prevent this, place your gloves inside of a plastic bag before putting them in the freezer.
Maintaining your gloves is not any rocket science. All you need to do is follow the above mentioned tips to prolong the lifespan of your gloves and keep an odor free pair of gloves.

Following nearly 3 years out of the ring the undefeated boxer Tyson Fury fought his return fight against Albania’s second-best cruiserweight Sefer Seferi. Fury’s last bout was of course against the now retired boxer Wladimir Klitschko where he collected the WBA, WBO and IBO world heavyweight titles. When Fury initially announced that he would be making a return and started off losing weight he announced that he would be able to beat either Deontay Wider or Anthony Joshua on his return fight, so when Sefer was announced it was rather underwhelming for Fury fans and the boxing world. However, I do agree that this level of opposition is the type of fights Fury should be taking following a huge amount of time out of the ring, though I cannot understand why Sefer was the man to take him on, at 5ft 9, watching this fight almost had a freak show element to it as we watched Tyson tower over his opponent. There are plenty of tall journeyman fighters that would have been much more appropriate to put in with Fury and I feel if he had fought a true heavyweight that the fight would have had a lot more creditably. Sefer had only fought once at heavyweight prior to this match up against Manuel Charr for the WBA Regular Heavyweight title where he was beaten via a points decision and it really does beg the question why Frank Warren didn’t choose a natural heavyweight for this occasion.
It was an exciting occasion as Fury’s ring walk music started and it was clear to see the atmosphere within the room. I hadn’t realised how much Fury’s popularity had grown whilst he had been away from the ring but it was obvious as we saw the packed out Manchester arena all fired up as he made his way into the ring. One thing I wasn’t expecting from the walk in was to hear ‘Because I got High’ by Afroman as one of Fury’s walk-in songs, it really was a middle finger to all his critics following him being caught for taking cocaine after a drugs test by UKAD.
The first round was odd from the word go, during the build up to this fight Fury had done many of his typical antics, including picking up Seferi at their weigh in and from the first round it was clear to see that the antics would continue. Just before the fight started Fury kissed Seferi on the lips and the antics didn’t stop there as he continued to throw his hands up in the air and smile to the crowd throughout the first round. In terms of boxing Fury barely threw a shot with the only notable punch being a decent jab that rocked Seferi’s head back. Seferi did try to land a couple shots during the first to be fair to him, but he looked very amateur as he lunged forward swinging and missing. The second round was very similar to the first in the fact that Fury continued his showboating until being penalised by referee Phil Edwards, something you don’t see in every boxing match! Seferi even had a go at showboating himself and tried an Ali shuffle which Fury copied and at this point as a viewer it was all getting a bit weird. Towards the end of the second round a fight actually broke out in the audience which both Fury and Seferi both stopped to have a look at, it was slightly unprofessional from Fury and he should’ve ignored it but even as the bell for the end of the second sounded, Fury stood by the ropes smiling at the fight. It was possible that for the third Ben Davidson had a word with Fury because from this moment on he started to take the fight more seriously, there was no more showboating and he put together a good combination of punches, particularly the right to left uppercut followed by a right straight. By the fourth Fury really stepped on the gas more and we did see glimpses of the old Tyson Fury here. He cut the ring off really well and almost had Seferi on the floor at one point where he started landed some good punches whilst Seferi was up against the ropes. I thought towards the end of the 4th that Fury was getting close to forcing the stoppage and thought he would probably do it in the 5th, unfortunately the fight was cut short and Seferi and his team pulled out at the end of the 4th, a result all involved were disappointed with. For Fury and his fans I think they would’ve all liked to see a proper stoppage win for his return fight but unfortunately Fury wasn’t given the opportunity to display this as the fight was cut short.
All in all, I think Fury can be pleased with his performance, I do truly believe we saw some shades of his former self and from watching that performance I do still think he can be as good as he formally was. Unfortunately, I think he may have lost a few fans during that performance as it was a bit of a joke of a fight for a number of reasons, but I do understand why he is fighting this calibre of opponent. Warren confirmed that Fury’s next fight will be on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s fight at Windsor Park on the 18/08, I feel it is a good that he is fighting on an undercard rather than a main event as he can get some rounds in the bag without the pressure of performing to please his fans. I suspect Fury will fight another journeyman but this time a true big heavyweight. He is due to fight once/possibly twice this year after this fight which I assume will be a main event. I would like to see him against either Manuel Charr, Shannon Briggs or David Price so he has a proper competitive fight before 2019, which I assume will be the year we see him fight world class opposition such as Tony Bellew, Dillian Whyte and of course Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.
It has been over a week since the confirmation of Dillian Whyte’s next fight against New Zealand’s Joseph Parker which is due to take place on the 28th July at the O2 Arena. The fight came as a shock to many, after it was assumed Dillian’s next bout would either be against Kubrat Pulev or Luis Ortiz as a final eliminator to be mandatory for Joshua and Wilder’s belts. It had seemed that Whyte and his team had chosen to go down the route of fighting Pulev until the fight went to purse bids and was won by a third party named Epic Sports and Entertainment. Epic Sports seemed keen on hosting the fight in Bulgaria – something that Whyte and his team were not interested in. Following this, the day before Whyte was due to announce his next fight, many rumours circulated from global media outlets that Whyte against Luis Ortiz had all but been confirmed, rumours that were proved wrong the following day. As well as this, Parker himself was all but confirmed to fight Bryant Jennings until the Whyte fight became available, so to say that this fight was expected is an understatement!
Much has been said of whether or not this fight should be PPV, but with the release of the undercard by Eddie Hearn yesterday it has made its claim as a solid PPV event. Eddie Hearn himself has stated that without the PPV feature this fight simply could not have been made and that Dillian Whyte has earned this opportunity to secure himself financially. The Brixton born man battled his way through tough opponents such as Dereck Chisora, Robet Helenius and more recently the brutal KO of Lucas Browne and now is in a popular position where a fight like this can be made. Parker vs Whyte is a very difficult fight to judge and, in my opinion, could either end up as a tactical bout or a gruelling slug fest, as fans we hope for the latter! Dillian has improved vastly as a boxer following his single defeat to Anthony Joshua and under the guidance of Mark Tibbs we have seen qualities such as his speed, footwork, and the method he puts his punches together improve greatly. As well as that, he has now proven his knockout power with a devastating left hook that KO’d the Australian born Lucas Browne in his last fight. I think for Dillian it is important bring the fight to Parker and try and fight more on the inside, after watching Parker in previous fights it seems he can struggle fighting on the inside and much prefers to box and move. Parker on the other hand is coming off his first defeat against the unified champion Anthony Joshua, a fight which Parker worked well in but didn’t seem to land as many punches as he’d wished. I believe it is important for him to throw many more punches against Whyte which he will be keen to do following his last display, he also needs to do what he is good at and move around the ring as much as he can, something that Dillian seemed to struggle with when he fought Robert Helenius. Personally, I believe this will be a very exciting bout which easily go the distance due to the great chins which both men acquire.
After the release of the undercard, a fight that has particularly caught the publics attention is the release of Dereck Chisora vs Carlos Takam. Carlos of course has been widely known for his last 3 defeats to Alexander Povetkin, Joseph Parker and particularly his fight against Anthony Joshua where he gave AJ a much tougher fight than a lot of the public thought he would. Chisora on the on the other hand is in last chance saloon and a defeat here could force him to retire or either continue as a journey man. We have all seen what Dereck can do when he his up for a fight so hopefully he can prove a lot of doubters wrong here and beat Takam. Takam in my opinion is a better version of Dereck Chisora, they have very similar fighting styles but Takam just seems to be the all round better boxer, and despite being the older man of the 2 is also the fresher fighter as he has been in a lot less punishing fight than Chisora. I am very interested to see how this fight goes and also interested to see what is next for the winner of this contest. Takam has been shouting for a rematch against Joshua due to not being happy with the stoppage, personally I don’t see the rematch happening but he could certainly become a good option for a lot of world level fighters if he were to win against Chisora. If Chisora were to win it really could reignite his career, could a win here potentially push a rematch against Dillian Whyte? Or after this could we see Chisora against Joe Joyce possibly? It will be interesting to see what happens following the fight, but I do believe we have a real barn burner of a fight here that could possibly outdo the main event.
Also on the undercard, we have Kell Brook making his return against Brandon Cook, which has been slated by a lot of boxing fans. The Canadian fighter is very much unknown to the British fans but holds a good record of 20-1. Personally, I think it would have been better to fight Cook first and then fight Rabchanka for his second bout as Rabchanka is much better known to boxing fans than Cook. It’s another good fight to keep Kell busy and get a few extra rounds in but I can see why the public aren’t happy. Hopefully this sets up a big fight for his next bout against a world class opponent, possibly an Adrien Broner, one of the Charlo’s, or possibly even a fight against his rival Amir Khan.
Joshua Buatsi has also been put on the undercard against Ricky Summers. Ricky has only lost once in a fight he was much praised for in a points loss against Frank Buglioni. It’s Buatsi’s first real step upasince entering the professional ranks and I think it is a good opportunity to demonstrate his skills against a domestic rival. Buatsi has been calling out Anthony Yarde recently, a fight that has really caught the public’s imagination and I’m hoping that a win here against Summers can really make this fight realistic and build it more.
World Boxing Association has ordered WBA World middleweight champion Ryota Murata to defend against Number 3 WBA Rob Brant. WBA has reportedly dispatched letters to the management of Murata and Brant. They have the time until July 15 to make a decision.
Brant who is 27 was defeated by Juergen Braehmer by a jaw dropping 12 round unanimous decision last October in a completely one sided match. It is understandable as to why did Brant lose the fight to Braehmer, because he normally fights at light heavyweight most of the time. Braehmer had moved down from 175 and Brant moved up from middleweight just for WBSS super middleweight tournament. Brant clearly did not belong in ring with Braehmer.
After this humiliating defeat, Brant defeated Colby Courte by a 1st round knockout in March last year. Brant looked furious in this fight, maybe he was trying to hurl out all that frustration. Also the fight was against a non-world class level foe which does not mean a lot. Brant is adept at defeating those kind of fighters but it would only be great if he could defeat top fighters.
Clearly Brant has not yet done anything to deserve high ranks with the WBA. His best victories are against Dionisio Miranda, Alexis Hloros and the likes. On the other hand Murata has won against fighters like Hassan NDam, Bruno Sandoval and Geore Tahdooahnippah. Murata has fought fierce and atrocious opponents which gives him an edge over Brant upon analysis.
This is going to be second defense for Murata for his WBA title that he had won just last October after beating Hassan N’Dam. Boxing fans think that Murata must have won the first fight. He received severe lambasting for always facing weaker oppositions during his 5 year professional career. He won an Olympic gold medal in the year 2012. However, it was a controversial one for him.
Gennady Golovkin better known as ‘GGG’ could very much face Murata later this year in December in Japan. This fight can make tons of money and fans are really looking forward to it.
Murat Gassiev who is IBF/WBA cruiserweight champion may be fighting the unbeaten contestant Andrew Tabiti on July 21. Previously he was believed to fight WBC/WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk but now it seems unlikely. The talks between Gassiev and Usyk are at a point of deadlock so there are less chances of fight between the two.
The WBSS tournament will lose its charm if a fight Gassiev and Usyk is not arranged. It will not retain its value if finals fail to include Usyk. Usyk has already defeated Mairis Briedis who is ranked as the third best fighter in cruiserweight division.
The Ukrainian Usyk is not in favor of the fight being conducted in Russia. Middle East location is already out of cards as Gassiev faced an injury there during the training sessions. It is expected to generate a lot of money if the fight takes place in Russia but chances are slim as Usyk is not willing. The fight was supposed to happen in Saudi Arabia which is very strange since both fighters are from Eastern Europe. Usyk’s first two fights have been in Germany and Latvia. He has turned out to be ‘Number 1’ in the tournament so far.
In the event that the news about Gassiev facing the 28 year old Tabiti turns out to be true, it would be a bummer for boxing fans as they were anticipating a match between Gassiev and Usyk. A final with someone else in place of Usyk will be an absolute disappointment. A neutral venue must be decided for the fight to take place. Usyk should either be convinced to fight in Russia or another venue must be chosen with mutual consent.
Tabiti is 28 and has been boxing professionally since 2013. His amateur career was not great as he had fought only 38 fights. However, he has been looking great since his recent triumph over 41 year old former cruiserweight champion Steve ‘USS’ Cunningham. He has also achieved a comprehensive win over Quantis Graves and Lateef Kayode. Recent skirmishes have clearly shown that Tabiti has the required potential and he can be much more competitive than he was before. He could be a good choice to face Gassiev but not as great as Usyk. In case of the replacement, Tabiti would get a great opportunity to fight for the title but he is just not good enough to face Gassiev.
Artur Beterbiev who is IBF light heavyweight champion has planned to appeal the decision of the superior court in Quebec. He has a dispute with GYM promoter Yvon Michel. Digging deep reveals that Artur Beterbiev was expecting to end his promotional agreement with Michel but the judge ruled against it.
The judge ruled that it appears that the promotional agreement with GYM promoter is valid until 2021. However, Beterbiev is not happy and plans on appealing against it. He is promoted by Yvon Michel since 2013. Beterbiev had fought only fight in 2017, against Enrico Koelling. He defeated him to acquire the IBF light heavyweight title. Beterbiev seems quite inactive when it comes to fights. He has not fought a single fight this year. Critics believe that it might be due to his dispute with Yvon as he could be under mental stress.
Nancy Audet said, ”Artur Beterbiev decided to appeal his case. The documents will be tabled tomorrow. On the side of Beterbiev, we do not think that a reconciliation is possible with GYM,”.
There are rumors doing circles that it is probable that Beterbiev may retire if the court rejects his appeal, or the appeal goes against him. This would be such a huge disappointment as Beterbiev still has not fought any big name.
Beterbiev has been inactive for a long time and with him appealing against the decision, he cannot sit tight and wait for decisions to come into his favor. He really needs to hop in the ring and fight. His career has become a little too slow since 2016.
Michel on the other hand is confident that the judge will not rule against him and plans to promote Beterbiev. As per contract, Beterbiev is supposed to have two fights in 2018 but things do not seem right. If Beterbiev keeps waiting for the court’s decision, he might not be able to take part in even one fight.
It is expected that Beterbiev plans to sign with Top Rank once he gets out of the promotional agreement with Yvon Michel. Although Top Rank has an unbeaten contestant Oleksander Gvozdyk yet he is not a star and chances for his victory at WBC light heavyweight championship are slim.
To be fairly honest, Beterbiev is still regarded as one of the most avoided fighters. One of the major reason for this is that he remains inactive and barely fights.
