Gennady Golovkin vs. Brandon Adams possible for June
Gennady Golovkin vs. Brandon Adams In June
Brandon Adams (21-2, 13 KOs) has been given the offer to fight Gennady Golovkin. Even though there are other boxers which were being considered too. But the 29-year-old is said to have been given the shot.
Why GGG want Adams Fight?
Adams is a decent fighter. He has won his last four fights since losing to Thompson by a second round knockout in May 2015.
Its better that GGG faces someone like Adams at the moment and not risk his rematch against Saul Canelo which is going to make a lot of money.
“SOURCES: Brandon Adams was extended an offer to fight Gennady Golovkin in the former middleweight champion’s debut on DAZN,”
Mike Coppinger said on his Twitter.
“Adams, who won the most recent iteration of The Contender, is among a handful of names being considered for the June assignment against GGG.”
How Would Fans Feel About It?
GGG would look bad if he fought someone (Adams) who was knocked out by Monreo Jr. who was knocked out by GGG in 2014. It would look like GGG is looking an easy fight rather than fighting the boxers of his own caliber.
Playing Safe Or Being a Coward?
The #2 WBC contender Kamil Szeremeta is a possible opponent for GGG in June. It seems like that GGG is just looking for a weak opponent to make his record better. But if this fight happens, he will have to face a lot of heat from the fans for fight Adams rather than someone talented and equal.
